Just got off the phone with a CLOSE connection to the LeCavalier situation, who told me the following...

"People should realize that this past trade deadline Vinny came MUCH closer to becoming a Canadien than anyone on either side wants to admit. The Habs were so aggressive because they knew that once Vinny made it to the draft without being dealt the whole field would open up..And sure enough it has ....currently 5 teams are working up possible deals for Vinny...included with Montreal is Vancouver, NY Rangers, Buffalo, and Minnesota."

Yes the Sabres and Wild are getting involved and as many as 4 more teams will join the fray including Calgary, Philadelphia, Ottawa and the LA Kings.
