A well-placed source has informed me that the talks surrounding James van Riemsdyk are very fluid...so much so that "most agree it is about 70% that JvR starts this season elsewhere...90% that he is elsewhere a year from now.."

I personally think this a huge mistake by Toronto. JvR can be a solid, slightly older stabilizing force in a room of so many young players...The Islanders and Rangers continue to be the teams most closely linked to JvR...

On Duchene...

Amidst a TON of rumors linking Buffalo to Matt Duchene I was just told by a team out west that they are hearing Sakic and company are prepping to make one last push...The source added, "They of course are saying they'd be fine with Matt staying put, but clearly both Duchene and the Avalanche are just hoping there is a team out there willing to pay the price and give them more players that can step right in and help out in Denver."
