Quick update before the rumor blog to come.

The Sabres are once again trying to sign Ryan Miller. According to my sources they aren't happy with the offers that are being made at this point. Miller really wants to go to a team with a shot at winning a Cup. That is his focus at this point. If you can't get him to a team in strong contention he would rather sign back with Buffalo and be part of the rebuild. Sabres are demanding a top goalie in return and so far, from what I've heard at least, the best possible goalie in return for Miller would be Braden Holtby. The Capitals are very serious about both Ryan Miller and Marty Brodeur.

Along the same lines I am hearing that the St. Louis Blues are turning their attention towards Brodeur. There is a scenario where the Capitals could end up with Jaroslav Halak and Brodeur could end up in St. Louis. The Blues are dead serious about improving their chances for the playoffs. As are the Wild. Minnesota is also rumoured to be looking at Marty... Today I also heard the Colorado Avalanche have made inquiries about Martin Brodeur. Which is surprising given the fact they look pretty set in goal.

More than one person has told me they are really interested to see how aggressive Joe Sakic and Patrick Roy will be this deadline. Common belief would be the Colorado Avalanche should just stay the course, but then again this is Patrick Roy we are talking about...

I also continue to hear Colorado may be quietly working a deal for Alex Radulov to join the team....in the offseason.

It's getting good folks :)
