There was some debate on the podcast with Russ and Mike believing that Evander Kane will NOT be and should NOT be protected.. I completely agree with all of you. That he should and he absolutely WILL be protected by the Sabres. He has had a fantastic year and only has one year left on his contract..

So last night saw a bit of a shake-up in the Western Conference Projected Standings with Calgary losing to Nashville and LA defeating Winnipeg. The Kings are still very much in this...
Also last night we continued to see Carolina fight to stay alive by beating another tough team. The Hurricanes were very much left for dead a month ago...Also, Tampa's win over Boston has put the Lightning within a point of the Maple Leafs when we look at the projected standings, and only three points behind the Islanders...
None of this has changed the Stanley Cup Final Projections for some time now, as the match ups still favor the Caps in the East and the Hawks and Ducks in the West. In one of my next blogs I will get into the ins and outs of who wants to play who and why in the playoffs...
