According to a source, weekend long talks are coming to a conclusion...

What conclusion you might ask? (well, that's what I asked at least)

"The Lightning and Yzerman are being particularly quiet about everything and for good reason...what they do next will define Yzerman's legacy in many ways..."

Does this mean a deal to sign Stamkos is coming?

"Expect a great deal of misdirection here. If Yzerman is to deal Stamkos it won't be like Heatley where the doors are opened for business. It will be, "We have a deal for Stamkos ready to go, but we have to do what's best for the franchise....No matter what it is, there is pressure to make it happen soon..."

If the owner can afford to pay Stamkos, won't he just do so?

"It's not about money. No one is questioning Stamkos as a top money guy. It's about what you are getting for that money and what kept you from succeeding in the past....And there is also the question "What does Stamkos really want to do here." It isn't long term in Tampa...from all indications at least."
