* The Blues are looking hard at acquiring a power forward and are one of the few teams in the NHL that is not only winning but blessed with the kind of cap space that opens up some serious options. The. Flyers, who the blues talked to about a month ago, are now very much back in the picture.
* Don't be shocked if the Dustin Byfuglien sweeps comes down to three teams...The Rangers, Flyers, and Bruins.
* The Rangers are being very aggressive right now and a trade involving Del Zotto + for Evander Kane is not out of the question.
* The Canadiens, who have been looking at Kane for some time now (as reported here going back almost two years) are now talking to the Flames I am told. Of course Calgary is without their long term GM, so it will be curious as to when the moves in Calgary start to happen...but they will happen.
* Vancouver and the Islanders have discussed what sources are calling "a minor setup deal." The question is who is setting up and for what? I have also heard Vanek mentioned with the Canucks (and the Kings and Yotes) but I wouldn't call a Vanek move minor.
* Definitely keep a close watch on the Islanders....
