Fun filled day ahead with plenty of updates leading into the skills competition in Nashville. I am writing a feature piece for tomorrow on just how great an All-Star weekend Smashville is throwing (off the charts already)...but first a fascinating rumor to sink your teeth into...

The Maple Leafs REALLY want to keep James Reimer I am told. They want to extend him, but would possibly trade the pending UFA if they can get a solid return...especially to a team who needs goaltending help desperately and who won't want to sign him in the summer.....

And that team of course would be...The Montreal Canadiens...

The Leafs can move Reimer to the Habs with no worries of him becoming the top goalie for their rival for the next 6-8 years. Montreal is in dire need of a change and infusion of energy....and the only way to do this without changing their coach (which is oddly a non-starter right now) is bringing in a legit goalie who will allow Price to heal properly...and while some are saying Carey may be a few weeks away others are nervous and may want to shut him down for a few months...

Reimer could be reunited with Scrivens in Montreal and the Leafs I am told do like Mike Condon...

This could be fun....
