Also doesn't that defeat the purpose of the Tim Thomas paper acquisition? What team would WILLFULLY choose to have about $9 million in dead cap space tied up in goalies who won't be playing for them? Waiving DiPietro negates any benefit of not having to actually pay Thomas.
