Nothing to the fact that Drew Stafford is not on the roster of the current Sabres website I am told.
Talked to my Bruins source this morning and he hadn't heard much on Marleau, but did say that there are talks with Kessel and Edmonton that continue to intensify and even added that as was suspected the Bruins could be in the running for Heatley.
The Marleau talk got only bigger this morning with the Devils name coming up, as well as the Islanders (who are still in on Cheechoo I firmly believe)
There are indications as well that Zherdev is getting some interest from Atlanta, Nashville and Washington. It was widely reported that he was heading to the KHL, and I am told that there is indeed a team in the KHL that is expecting him should he not sign in the NHL.
Atlanta makes the most sense. It would be fun to see Kovalev/Antropov/Zherdev leading the charge in front of that great young defense that they are building in Atlanta.
Well this summer was the "Summer of Heatley."
Last summer was the "Summer of Sundin"
and two summers ago..... "The Summer of Jason Allison."
Well guess what? Reports are that Jason Allison is going to be in the Leafs camp on a tryout. EXTREMELY surprising.
And we are also hearing more and more rumblings of Peter Forsberg. SO ALL OF THE STARS ARE OUT!
