First rumors from around the league...

Bob Mckenzie is reporting that Whitney is tied to LA kings trying to resolve situation and says Penguins are out. Also saying Whitney may not get moved at all.

I do agree on LA, and McKenzie is tied in everywhere of course, but especially in Carolina. So I would believe the Penguins being out as well. However, my thoughts here are that Whitney will be dealt. Carolina simply can not hold on to an asset like that. Whitney is a good guy. He may be pulling for the perfect position, but in the end will accept something to help the team.

Bob is also reporting Ponikarovski could fetch a #2 and a prospect and is listing LA as a possibility

Again, agreed. But add Pitt, Buff, and NJ to that list. The Flyers were in it briefly but don't have the picks

Bob is saying Wolski is in play

Yes. Again, NJ and Buffalo.

Andy Strickland and Bob McKenzie are both saying that the other Whitney, Ray in LA is a possible move.

Not yet I am told.

Bob is also reporting moving Scott Niedermayer is not on the radar of Anaheim.

I do agree, however, as I have said comments from teams have a shelf life. I have never reported Anaheim is shopping Scott. What I am reporting is a huge push by Chicago.

Tim Panaccio is reporting the Flyers aren't close to anything as of now due to lack of draft picks.

I agree again, however shelf life. The Flyers, like most teams have made their position known to the sellers and are waiting. As of now the price is too high and requires picks. The Flyers have interest in Hamhuis, Cullen and Armstrong. Also Vokoun who is now apparently ready to waive his NTC. Which is huge.

more to come as I compile my conversations.
