Well, as we sit and wait on the Kovalchuk final, FINAL decision.....there are finally some rumors surrounding some other big name UFAs...
On the Sabres, Islanders and Marc Savard...
They are in the Savard hunt as of this morning I was just told...Interesting, because I was going to be blogging about how the NY Islanders were gaining momentum for Savard.
On Tomas Kaberle...
Two main teams: NJ (if no Kovalchuk) and San Jose (if no Kovalchuk) remain. The Leafs are reportedly VERY interested in Ryane Clowe. He is one of their main targets in San Jose. In NJ, it remains to be seen...However, you can also add the Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, and Washington Capitals to the Kaberle hunt. as one source said this morning, "Kaberle is getting moved sooner than later. I believe Burke give the Kovalchuk camp until Tuesday at the absolute latest.
On Frolov...
The Canadiens, Sabres and Rangers are the top options, however if no GREAT deals come to fruition, there are many who believe Frolov could pull a Hossa and play a year on the wing with Sidney Crosby.
On Gagne...
It's getting closer to being done, but also remains completely tied to Kovalchuk...The Kings are the favorites, but the longer this goes Tampa, Boston or the NY Isles may indeed get better offers on the table.
On the Rangers...
They are "up to something," at least that was the tone to the texts I received from 4 different sources.
On Theodore...
Don't be shocked to find Jose in orange and black.
