some Quick Hit rumors..
*Talks continue between the Avalanche and Ryan O'Reilly...slowly I have been starting to hear more and more rumblings of other teams taking a look at O'Reilly...that said, Montreal (e4) is the first team I have heard out there who may have serious interest. And not just from 1 or 2 sources on this one...we will see..
* The Capitals and Kings have had a few discussions surrounding goaltender Jon Bernier (e2). The Caps aren't willing to move what the Kings want to this point however. LA is smart to hold this chip as long as they can.
* It is definitely odd to see a player who asked for a trade see his trade value rising, but that does appear to be the case with Roberto Luongo in Vancouver as Luongo plays solid, consistent hockey for the Canucks. More and more teams have been getting involved in this, and there certainly is some traction to the the Florida and Stephen Weiss rumors. I wouldn't say anything is all that close to happening however.
* The rumors are out there that teams are calling Toronto about Phil Kessel and for sure they are...The Leafs aren't moving Kessel any time soon though.
* Keith Yandle is a player to keep your eye on. The talk around Yandle is definitely mixed at this point. Some calling him nearly franchise D valuable, while others find him to be too one dimensional...
* The flyers signing of Timonen is very important not only for defensive stability, but for the youth of the team. Briere, Timonen, Hartnell and Knuble are invaluable on a team which has very few players in their late 20s. The Flyers, for the most part, are a team of players in their young 20s and mid 30s.
* The Wild are rumored to have interest in Kyle Okposo (e3)
* The Oilers and Islanders continue to talk as well. it will be interesting to see where it goes from here. Edmonton is looking hard at picking up a center. (e4)
