Sorry for the delay...been one of "those" days.

Anyway, here is the latest.

On Calgary and the NY Rangers:

The word is the Rangers want Glencross, and that is not what Feaster is willing to part with. The Flames may turn back to NJ to discuss a deal. Rumors around those two teams seem to focus on Jay Bo.

Meanwhile...NJ talking to Edmonton?

The Devils are on of the teams I expected to make a run at Gilbert Brule when he passed through waivers. As is usually the case, this isn't an instance of NJ not wanting Brule, but if they were to make a move they would rather have Edmonton take cap space back. Patience may pay off for the Devils in this case.

Montreal and Toronto Dealing?

It was at one point unthinkable, but knowing Burke and Gauthier pretty well, I believe it is entirely possible they work a deal together. Craig Custance, in an ESPN Insider article this afternoon cited an NHL source who told him the Habs have contacted the Leafs about a defenseman.

Canucks done or not?

Depends who you talk to... One source is saying they are completely done, while another swears they are in on Turris. Mixed signals like this are typical when a team is maybe "willing to do something, but doesn't want to appear desperate and lose the edge in an ongoing negotiation."

My money would be they are interested in Turris, but getting Booth has seriously helped them do this in their own time.

more to come.
