On David Krejci for Cam Fowler...
Hearing more and more that the Anaheim Ducks are targeting speed and scoring and trying to get one or the other (or both) for Cam Fowler. Today I have heard David Krejci again, as Boston is deep in need of a defenseman like Fowler. I also heard Ottawa's Mike Hoffman's name mentioned. Hoffman filed for arbitration yesterday.
On Vadim Shipachov....
Perhaps the best player out there without a team right now is KHL star Vadim Shipachov. He has been drawing a ton of interest, most recently from Florida, Detroit, and Montreal. The NY Rangers would LOVE to be a player in this one but continue to try and find a spot for Rick Nash. The rumors that were circulating last night that tied Nash to Detroit or Carolina turned out to be more posturing than anything else.
On Flyers signing local kid TJ Brennan...
I love this signing. TJ is a real talent who has been a slow developer but this could turn into one of the best "off the radar" moves of the summer. I have been following TJ's career closely and the former Hockey/Lacrosse High School star has been on an upward trajectory since being drafted, to the point where he became a dominant player this past year for the Marlies. The best D-man in the AHL. He is a guarantee to make the Phantoms better, but I think there may still be more there at the NHL level to come...
