It has been an endless day, and in a few hours I am taking the boy to see Toy Story 3 at 9:15 am. He is adorable. He has woken me up three times tonight to ask me if it was time yet. Cute. And now that I am awake, I figured I would put up this blog I was working on now...
We rarely see teams making offer sheets, and this year once again I would be shocked to see more than 1 or 2... Then why even mention these? Well look what happened today. The possibility of offer sheets in our era is a bigger factor towards teams feeling pressure to make trades than anything else. So these teams who are rumoured interested in these players, are interested in the players...Their first choice would be via trade (not to be nice, but to be able to unload money). If a trade isn't an option, then the offer sheet route would be explored.
Eight Offer Sheet Rumors.
#8 Joe Pavelski.
He and Setoguchi were in discussions for Halak/Price. Pavelski was awesome in the first two rounds of the playoffs, and with Marleau possibly gone this summer (and Joe Thornton next summer) it is obvious Wilson will try to get this done before an offer sheet is filed.

#7 Wojtek Wolski
Stempniak is a UFA, but Wolski is more coveted. The Coyotes are also in a tenuous spot still. Ice Edge is getting closer, but the lease, which is really all that matters, is still unchanged.

#6 Bryan Little
He is an RFA and a huge chip. The Thrashers have cap space according to the NHL, but their self-imposed space may mean they have to actually make space. Little is a potential star.

Talks have been wobbly with Anaheim, but the Ducks are hedging. JW has really proved himself to be a valuable d-man who can bring skill and muscle.

#4 Josh Harding
Not all offer sheets may be multi-million dollar deals...Harding is one of two goalies who came up today as possibly getting an offer.

#3 Bobby Ryan
This could be a game changer. Bobby Ryan is a serious player and would require the Ducks to either match or accept a ton of picks.

The Hawks may have little choice here. If Niemi were to receive a sheet, the Hawks would be forced to react quickly or lose him. There is a team who I know for fact is working up this offer sheet. And a few teams who are considering it.
