A little late summer drama for you...

Kevin Hayes, a newborn UFA, is meeting with final teams today and I am hearing three who appear to have the inside track currently..

The Bruins are Hayes hometown team and have a right wing spot open, but are handicapped by the salary cap, while the Flames have some of Hayes former collegiate linemates and money. The Nashville Predators and Peter Laviolette are also still hunting for a good amount of offense and can maybe promise the most playing time...

Playing time and a chance to be in the top 6 are what Hayes is looking for.

The one thing I will add is Laviolette is not a coach who believes in guaranteeing anyone playing time and wants competition at all spots. If he had guaranteed Jagr a top six spot, like Jaromir requested, Jagr would still be a Flyer...
