On the Canadiens...
Were I a betting man I would say the most likely team to make the first deal and be the most active is the Montreal Canadiens....Today I heard a really interesting one. The Canadiens have reached out to the Blackhawks regarding Saad...The Habs also have talked to about a dozen teams regarding Pacioretty and/or Galcheynuk...I am told they WON'T trade both, but could.
On the Kings...and Patrick Maroon...
The Kings are still very much interested in Patrick Maroon...The Oilers price is VERY high and I get the impression that Maroon would be a rental and return to Edmonton. Connor McDavid has made it very much known he wants Maroon to remain.
The Kings have also talked with the Islanders about various players....and the Penguins about Ian Cole...
On the Penguins...
The Penguins are continuing to talk about many options, but playing this very well...which is to be expected from Rutherford... Some are suggesting Matt Cullen could return...I am not sold on that one...the Wild are still very much in this...and they got Cullen for his playoff experience...why would they move him to the Penguins? I realize that Cullen hasn't been on fire in Minnesota, but this is the regular season...
