The games are under way in the east! Time to get up my picks for the West.

#7 Arizona.

This is the easiest pick in hockey. The Coyotes are not without talent and have a huge future ahead of them…just not yet!

#6 Edmonton.

As strong as McDavid will be the Oilers are still far enough away on defense in my opinion to not be a playoff team yet. Cam Talbot could change my mind however….but I am not sure they have enough yet…If they can make the right moves and move one of the big players up front for a top two man all that changes,

#5 Vancouver.

The Canucks could finish as low as 6 and are bring a ton of youth tho the table…but I keep hearing about how good these kids are looking…so I am thinking the Canucks and their youth could give them an early push…

#4. LA Kings.

I hate to say it, but I am not seeing the Kings as a definite playoff team and the loss of many key playoff players from their past few years will no be an invisible affect. The Kings have some very good rookies joining the fray, but they also have a many more question marks than they have had in a decade.

#3 Calgary

The Flames are spectacular and have only improved their talent level over the summer. Hamilton and Frolik are both better than average additions….I am a Ramo fan as well…The Flames aren’t a flash in the pan….They are for real

#2 Anaheim

I know almost 99% of the pundits have them winning this division and I love what they have done as well over the summer. They have two top lines where most teams have only one. Their defense is good, but I am not convinced they are great yet…same with the goaltending.

#1. San Jose.

Yup. San Jose. A new coach. A new goalie. a new attutude. Still a ton of talent. Undeniable talent. Add to the Ward and Martin…great signings and exactly what they needed. I am just going on a hunch here….

enjoy the games!
