This I have been following for the last week or so..

Sources in Toronto, Edmonton, and Los Angeles have informed me the Canes and Leafs are talking already about a major deal which could go down at the draft or possibly even before that.

One source informed me in an email. "The Leafs are without a draft pick, but have plenty of depth to work from on the defensive end of things. The Hurricanes are very unhappy with their defenders. The Leafs have called about Cole and acquiring Whitney's rights, but the main name who interests the Leafs is Brandon Sutter."

Obviously, the price for Sutter, who has been one of the few rays of light in Carolina, will be very high.

Another source. "The deal is for Sutter and Cole. Burkie loves them both. The Canes want Schenn but also would consider Kaberle or a top notch prospect."

Another..."The Leafs have also looked into getting Carolina's #1 pick for Kaberle and a major prospect. It's about timing on Carolina's end. but the sides have been talking"

Jonathan Bernier: AHL player of the year.

Think the Kings have a major chip here? I always liked Bernier, and really felt that he was not given the right shot in LA. Today he was named the AHL player of the year. Kevin Allen, of the USA Today, speculated the Kings could use Bernier this summer to help pull off a major deal.

Don't be shocked if that deal happens with the Philadelphia Flyers, who are in dire need of grooming their future goaltender and the Kings and Flyers talk deal all the time.

Also, the NJ Devils have interest in Bernier should they not be able to get their chief target of Carey Price. I know quite a few of you scoffed at Price, but don't forget where you all heard it in a few months when I promise you Price to the Devils will be everywhere!

Tonight's Buzz Game: Boston @ Washington.

There is so much riding on this game. The Bruins face the Caps twice in their last four games and normally the Bruins don't match up well at all against Washington. The Bruins can't score right now, and the Caps aren't the kind of team you can beat 1-0 or 2-1 very often. However, lately, that is exactly what Rask is doing. Winning games...2-1 or 1-0.

The Bruins catch a huge break because Washington has NOTHING left to play for as of clinching yesterday...However, I don't see Boudreau as the kind of coach who won't want to keep his team rolling. With only 4 games to go, risking injury vs. risking momentum is a real gamble.

The Bruins could have really used Dennis Seidenberg back for tonight, but it appears he will not be ready.

The Caps won both times thee teams played, 4-1.

The Caps have the #1 offense in the NHL, averaging 3.8 goals a game.
The Bruins have the #30 offense in the NHL, averaging under 2.4 goals a game

The Bruins do have the second best GAA behind the NJ Devils..

And both the Caps wins came versus Thomas...this is Rask's team now..Come to think of it, Tuukka Rask is also making a huge push for not only Rookie of the Year, but the Vezina. his numbers are ridiculous! 20-12-4 with a 1.96 GAA. and a .931 SV%. Those are sick numbers and would win him rookie of the year in many a season...

my prediction in the Lexy below.
