Update 1:40
The Panthers are VERY much in on the talks for Ryan McDonagh...makes a ton of sense. Florida can be dangerous this season. They are making the playoffs in my opinion..
Hearing JvR for Nash + has been talked about...
12:32 Plekanec and Oduya healthy scratches...Hearing Pleks could be headed to Winnipeg
UPDATED 12:30
As Darren Dreger is reporting....Sharks in on Karlsson....may be jumping to the top... Joel Ward asked for his NO Trade...Sharks making space.
Start here today.....
Erik Karlsson Watch...
I am not buying that a deal will be made before the deadline as of now. I was just told the Lighting are NOT interested in Karlsson at this time, and probably not this summer either..
On Rangers...
The Bolts are ALL-IN on McDonagh and from what I am told, the deal the Lightning have set in motion is going to be hard to beat...but the Rangers are trying to find a better offer.
As they are in the case of Rick Nash... They have solid offer on both players, and the Rangers have told the teams what the "offer to beat" is... They are willing to wait.
I get a sense the deal to beat with Nash is with the Jets... Nothing to Nash to Columbus.
On JvR...
I don't think the Leafs are moving him, but I did hear the Golden Knights are suddenly interested...
Lundqvist and the craziest rumor ever?
It feels like a crazy long shot, but I am told the Rangers are actually taking calls on Lundqvist..and there are three teams who would consider it...One being Calgary. Another, surprisingly is Anaheim...The NY Islanders would be the best fit...but there "ain't no way" the Rangers move Lundqvist to their most hated rival.
However...the most interesting and craziest rumor I have heard in a few years is Lundqvist and McDonagh (plus a #1,2, and 4) possibly being part of deal for Erik Karlsson (+Gustavsson who just came from Pitt would also be in this heading to NY)...
To be clear, a lot of No Movement Clauses to deal with but I have heard it from three different people over the last three days...so I am just putting it out there.
On Ian Cole...
I get the sense the Flyers are leading the way here...
Coming up...I will add some answers to your "what the Ek?" questions to this blog...
