What I love about these standings is they are all based on the remaining schedule and the fact that upsets don't happen. And yet upsets are common place in our game, so when you see one happening, like last night when Pittsburgh gets toppled by Ottawa, you know there are going to be consequences. Also the Sharks and Coyotes had a major battle last night that projected out slightly to be an OT win for Phoenix, and yet it was an OT win for San Jose, so the Sharks catapult into the playoffs in the final standings if they win all the games they should.

it also means that teams slightly behind need to get upsets to make a run. While winning the games they should.

That is really all a team can ask for.. Control of their own destiny..

I am working on a rumor blog regarding the UFA's who will have a major impact this summer...so, more to come.
