According to a source, the Montreal Canadiens are going ALL IN on trying to acquire Shane Doan. I have three separate sources on this one and two are VERY close to the situation...while the other is very close to Doan himself.
One source, "This will all come down to Shane himself and whether or not he wants to take a serious shot at a Cup. In the past he has chosen the stability of keeping his family in Arizona. This year could be different however"
Another source added, "This all heated up last weekend when Montreal decided not only did they want Doan, but they didn't want to wait until the trade deadline to integrate him into the roster."
Whether or not Doan wants to wait and stay in Arizona as long as possible is the issue.
From what I was hearing from people in Ottawa last night, the Sens also want in on Doan and have been hearing the same rumblings of the Habs attempts to snag him. They won't be the only team.
