A Classic Day For the NHL's Version of a Super Bowl. |

The players are ready.
The fans are bundled.
The stage is set.
This is the NHL's Super Bowl.
I remember a day when the NHL hadn't been on NBC since the days of Peter Puck. The only contracts available would require the NHL to essentially pay a U.S. Network to cover their games. It isn't pay to play anymore.
Now the NHL says, "We'd like to move this game to 3pm and the Network says, "sure thing no problem. Whatever you want.". It's a good kind of change it's the kind of change that's worth waiting for.
There are of course game stories today...Bobrovsky in, Marc Staal in...but the story of today is really the atmosphere. It is unbelievable to see what this does for a city. As a kid who spent years convincing Phillies fans to get into hockey, I am proud to say the ticket to this game was a harder get than any Phillies games this past year.
enjoy it everyone....rumors will be discussed full-time starting tomorrow. There will be plenty to discuss for sure.....but not until we get to sit back and enjoy this awesome spectacle.
