The Islanders have just announced that both Travis Hamonic and Johnny Boychuk have been removed from the team’s IR list. Will they play tonight? Of course they will! And it’s about time!

Griffin Reinhart got another ticket on the Bridgeport ferry and poor speedy Michael Grabner got another stint on IR. I really do feel bad for him after he was doing well the last few games.
Both the Islanders and Red Wings have 42 points which makes tonight’s game very important. Jaro Halak will be in net and there will be no changes at forward. Let’s hope there are also no changes to the Isles ability to win; preferably in regulation.

Like the Islanders, the Red Wings can get scoring from all lines and are a speedy, tough team. But if the Isles plan on competing for the cup this season, this is the team they have to beat. Their confidence is high, but their will to win must be higher.

From Alan Ferguson of AP:
Detroit is also trying to snap a four-game home losing streak to the Islanders, which includes a 3-0 defeat last Dec. 23 in the teams' most recent matchup.
The Red Wings enter this one having totaled four goals in their last four games. New York, meanwhile, has given up a combined 11 in its back-to-back road losses.
Time to change those stats.

For me it’s Isles Jersey Friday. Let’s Go Islanders!
