Marcus Foligno and Tyler Ennis return to Buffalo along with the Wild to face the Sabres tonight. It will also be the first time that Marco Scandella faces the Minnesota Wild, while Jason Pominville faces his former mates as well.
Buffalo has struggled this season under first year head coach and Minnesota legend, Phil Housley.
The Sabres have lost 6 straight, while the Wild have dropped their last two.
Joel Eriksson Ek and Luke Kunin have been sent to Iowa to get them some more minutes, and Zack Mitchell has been recalled.
The amount of time that either Kunin or Eriksson Ek spend down with Iowa is anyone's guess, but the thought is that one or both will be back up with the Wild very soon.
The Iowa shuffle is going to be an ongoing saga with the Wild's salary cap situation and now with Coyle healthy.
Tonight is a game the Wild must win, and it is well past time for this team to get going. There is a lot of expectations on the Wild and with the payroll and personnel this is a win now team.
Bruce Boudreau can come on after each loss and say that his team did not respond until they were down, or they didn't play 60 minutes, or they suffered some bad breaks, whatever.
Boudreau needs to get this team going and it starts tonight and must continue. No more of this win one lose one up and down. The team has the ability to compete with every team in this league, but too often they can and do sink to the level of the lesser teams.
It's Always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
