Prospects Wrap Up Traverse City Tourney Vs. Hurricanes

After their dramatic come from behind 6-5 win over the Blues prospects in the first game in Traverse City,the Wild dropped game two 3-1, Saturday vs. Columbus.

After an off day Sunday the boys were back at it yesterday taking on the Stars prospect team.

Dmitry Sokolov got the Wild on the board first with a powerplay goal with just 36 seconds remaining in the 1st period. The goal came just 4 seconds after the Wild 2-man advantage had expired.

Justin Kloos gave the Wild a two goal lead once again on the powerplay at the 3:48 mark of the 2nd period. Joel Eriksson Ek extended the Wild lead to 3-0 just 1:09 later. Dallas cut the Wild to 3-1 going to the third.

The Stars tallied an early third period marker before Matt Bradley sealed the Wild win with just over 5 minutes to play.

Joel Eriksson Ek, Dmitry Sokolov, and Justin Kloos all had a goal and assist each, and Adam Vay stopped 32 of 34 Stars shots in the Wild win.

The Wild prospects finished with a 2-1 record along with Columbus and St. Louis, but finished 2nd in the Ted Lindsay division due to the loss vs Columbus.

The Wild will take on Carolina today in the cross over matchup of 2nd place teams at 6:30PM.

In other Wild news the Daniel Winnik has been added to the training camp roster on a PTO contract.

Winnik (32) a 10 year veteran is scored a career high 12 goals last season while playing in all 82 regular season games with Washington. Winnik is character player both on and off the ice.
