The busy summer for Chuck Fletcher is officially complete and the 2017-18 season is upon us as training camp opens today.

The final task on Chuck Fletcher's summer to do list was to get a new contract for RFA Marcus Foligno. That was completed yesterday as Foligno put his signature on a new $11.5 million, four year deal.

Foligno will make 2 million this season, 3 million next year, 3.5 million in 2019-20, and 3 million in 2020-21.

Overall a good deal for both sides that will keep the 26 year old Foligno here for the next four seasons, at a cap friendly number.

Fletcher has been very creative with his contracts this offseason a practice that will need to continue as the Ryan Suter, Zach Parise contracts begin to become a burden on the Wild cap and as the younger Wild players come off of the entry level deals.

Training Camp 2017-18 is finally here!!! There are not a lot of roster spots open on this Wild team, but the competition at camp may be the fiercest we have seen in years as there are a lot of veterans with NHL experience here, along with the young kids trying to establish themselves. Looking forward to seeing which players really step up.
