No Solace in Blues Loss

We as fans often resort to the "at least" side of things after our team has been eliminated from the playoffs.

That is no more evident here in the State of Hockey after former Wild bench boss, Mike Yeo, and his St. Louis Blues were eliminated yesterday by the Nashville Predators in six games.

Many of the Wild faithful are feeling a bit better today, knowing that the Blues will not be moving forward.

To me that is silly, we all have our rival teams that we hope never win, but eventually they will win and we will have to endure that fact.

At the end of the day, we are all passionate hockey fans and want to see the sport we love played at the highest level. The playoffs bring out the best in the game and the stories behind the triumphs are why we truly love the game and the participants involved.

The bottom line is, who cares about any of the other teams, we have no dog in the fight as Wild fans. We should be watching and enjoying the hockey. Yes, we have disappointment that the Wild are out, and what might have been, but wasn't. That is all water under the bridge, there is no turning the lights back on, there is only time to turn the page and look ahead.

Moving forward let's keep watching the Stanley Cup playoffs and rooting to see the highest caliber of hockey being played. No more 7-1 games with the fans doing the wave please!!!
