According to Bob McKenzie, it appears that the rumor leaked yesterday that Vegas was going to ink RFA Erik Haula to a new deal and work a trade with the Wild to lay off picking Matt Dumba, Marco Scandella, or Eric Staal may be true.

The deal appears to involve the Wild sending a top prospect to Vegas in return for George McPhee to not select one of the aforementioned key Wild players.

The prospect makes sense, in large part due to the fact that the Wild have no 1st or 2nd round picks in this year's draft and no 2nd next year.

Who the prospect is we will have to wait and see, but in the short term this is good news for the Wild. Haula will be missed for sure, but in the end he was due to be paid and with Nino and Granny up for new contracts the Wild are Cap strapped, so this deal makes perfect sense.

So who is the prospect?

And what other moves are coming if any?

UPDATED:
The prospect appears to be Alex Tuch, the Wild 1st round selection from 2014, who made his NHL debut this season. The 21 year old appeared in 6 games with the Wild recording 0 points in his limited role. In his first pro season Tuch scored 18 goals and added 19 assists in 57 games for the AHL Iowa Wild.

Chuck Fletcher deserves full marks with this move as yes, the Wild lose two players in the process, but for a team in position to win now, this is the kind of move that had to be made.
