The Wild have their new coach in place and many are very happy with Chuck Fletcher's decision while others are not so much. Those that are happy look at Boudreau as the winning coach that he is having won 8 division titles in 9 seasons as an NHL head coach, while those that are unhappy with the decision, look at Boudreau's playoff failures in particular his game 7 losses as his defining moments.

Well the truth of the matter is Bruce Boudreau is a proven winner in this league and by far was the best option Fletcher had. Wild fans should be very happy that their GM went out and got the best coach available and that owner Craig Leipold was ready with the checkbook open to make this move possible. If nothing else Wild fans must see that ownership and management are all in on the commitment to winning.

As a fan of any team all you can ask for is that your teams' management make every effort to build and produce a winning product. That is exactly the path that Mr. Leipold and Chuck Fletcher are on. Bruce Boudreau is a hockey professional and he will bring both a winning product to the ice as well as an exciting team to follow.

Chuck Fletcher has his work cut out for him moving forward with the upcoming draft and free agency. The Wild have three key RFAs in Dumba, Zucker, and Kuemper, that Fletcher will need to address. He has made it very clear that he needs to upgrade the roster and with the potential expansion trades may be a bigger topic both at the draft and throughout the summer.

Any way you want to look at it the off season for the Wild is off to a very good start.
