The game did not start out well for the Wild last night but sure did turn around in a hurry. Jadenn Schwartz poked in a loose puck from between Dubnyk's legs just 45 seconds into the game and it had the looks of some recent Wild road losses early. Nino Niederreiter got the Wild even off a rebound of Gustav Olofsson's shot that had rang off the post, just a minute and 17 seconds later.

Marcus Foligno and Mikko Koivu scored goals a minute fourteen seconds apart and the Wildtook a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. Devan Dubnyk rebounded after the soft first Blues goal to make several difficult saves, and none bigger than the stop he made on notorious Wild killer Vladimir Tarasenko that could have turned the tide back in the Blues favor.

The Wild chased Carter Hutton from the Blues net scoring three goals ono eight shots in the first period. Jake Allen did not fare much better as the Wild got three past him on 12 shots.

Dubnyk was tested throughout the night, despite the lopsided margin the Blues outshot the Wild by a 37-20 total. Now to be fair, 19 of those Blues shots came in the 3rd period with the game well out of reach.

Jonas Brodin left the game with what is being called an upper body injury and will miss tomorrow's game for sure, and could miss the entire five game homestand. Nate Prosser also left the game late after being hit by a shot, but is good to go and will play tomorrow night.

Brodin's injury will give Mike Reilly a chance to get back into the lineup after Olofsson has grabbed the upper hand in the battle for the 6th defenseman slot. Not sure what the Wild will do and who they will recall from Iowa, but Ryan Murphy deserves the call after the way he performed in his last recall, when Jared Spurgeon was sidelined.

Update: Jonas Brodin is out for 3-4 weeks following hand surgery. This is going to be a huge test for the Wild as their depth on defense is suspect.
