Thank goodness this is over. The speculation can cease and the Panther organization can move forward. But the return of Jordan Leopold and a 3rd, while just an ok deal for the Panthers, is pitiful in comparison to what they should have had at the deadline last season. The Panther organization has once again failed to address the offense, and looking at the roster there is going to be much of the same going on next season.

It's hard to imagine the Panthers making any sort of significant offensive splash starting July 1st, but they did save roughly $5 million with Jay gone and Leopold's number at $1.5 million, and the contracts of Zednik, Boynton and Cullimore are surely gone, with the possibility of Dvorak, Peltonen, McLean, and Skrastins following suit. I hope they find a way to keep Dvorak and Skrastins, as both proved their worth as very valuable players last season.

It is rumored that the Panthers will decrease payroll next year, which doesn't bode well for seeing more goals, but the likes of Repik, Matthias, and Dadonov can hopefully pick up the slack.

But you look at this roster, and it's just a collective groan. They were balanced last year with scoring coming in small numbers from many, but how much better could this team be with just one bonafide sniper? It would make all the difference. But with a hopeful ownership change on the horizon and no GM in place yet, who knows what moves will be made.

One thing is for sure. We're looking good on D. Give the D a rest already. The pucks need to hit the back of the net, and all focus from now on should be on who is going to do that early and often next year...
