In my last post I was in la la land about what the Panthers could get for trading JayBo's rights to Vancouver. I assumed incorrectly that everyone would assume that those rights would also turn into a long term contract for the team that traded for those rights. My bad. So let's keep in mind that these scenarios about what JayBo is worth includes the guarantee that he agrees to sign a contract.

So now the rumors are flying, no pun intended, that the Flyers may send Simon Gagne to the Panthers for JayBo's rights. While I personally think Philly would be out of their mind to do that, I would absolutely love it if that came to fruition. He would immediately become the best player on the team and give that much needed boost to the offense.

With all the Jay doubters out there this scenario is sure to get killed in the comments. But the NHL Network did say that this exact rumor is a strong one in the Philly camp. Jay's upside may just create the bidding war the Panthers need to help their team immediately.
