What an unexpected and enlightening development. First, I'd like everyone to take notice that there are Panther fans out there. In addition, Panther fans that care.

Rosenhaus has been hired to negotiate lower season ticket prices. Let's face it, the fans are deserving. In fact, towards the end of every year these same season ticket holders are slapped in the face with free ticket giveaways and other such nonsense. Good for them.

The other facet of this that is interesting is it will be bring more light, and heat, on Panthers' ownership for their failures over the last decade and hopefully light a fire to get things moving in the right direction. A good starting point would be hiring a quality GM soon to let the fans know the organization means business and does indeed have a distinct focus.

With the sale of the team on the horizon, new ownership now see the fans have had enough. Eight seasons without a playoff appearance has resulted in them feeling like they are being gouged. They have a point. Whether you love or hate the likes of Rosenhaus, I firmly am in his corner on this one as a Panther fan. However, it opens up a huge can of worms throughout the league if he is successful in his representation. What fans would want cheaper prices?

This is the Facebook release by the Panthers: "It has been communicated to us that Drew Rosenhaus has been contracted by Panthers fans to negotiate lower season ticket prices. We are aware of this development and are still gathering details. The Florida Panthers have no further comment at this time."

Sounds like they are blindsided, and possibly embarrassed by this new development. Let's hope it results in positive results, on and off the ice.
