The New York Islanders announced today that winger Shane Prince had successful ankle surgery and will be sidelined 4-6 months. Prince said on twitter that he tried to play through it, try to rehab the ankle and also tried rest and this was the only option left.

Prince was likely to be one of the extra forwards this season so when he returns in 2018 it will be interesting to see what his role with the club will be.

The Isles Buzz podcast will be celebrating its 100th episode live from Offside Tavern in Chelsea on September 26th at 8pm. Today we are pleased to announce that Isles play-by-play man Brendan Burke will be joining us. There will be more guests to announce and I hope everyone can make it down that night to help us celebrate our 100th episode.
