In the two months I've been writing with the HockeyBuzz team, I've noticed that while my more 'journalistic' pieces are well received, people seem to also enjoy different column types. The Q&A Blog, for instance, is quite popular and well read.

In that light, I've decided I'm going to propose a weekly column type, which I will be mixing in with my blogs-- either I can do a weekly Q&A, in which I'll choose five questions from my e-mail/twitter/Facebook and answer, or I can do a different column type, which I'm going to try today: 10 Thoughts, Prospect Style.

Give me your feedback; which interests you the most and would have you logging in each week?

1. The Anaheim Ducks are magicians with college defensemen. Justin Shultz and now-Leaf prospect, Jake Gardiner, had to be the best defensive pairing in the NCAA this past season together.

2. Look out for Mattia Marcantuoni in the 2012 NHL Draft. He's played a fairly limited role with the Kitchener Rangers this year on a very deep team, but many say his skating as good as Taylor Hall's was at the same age. That's half the battle when trying to make the NHL. (42 GP, 11 Goals, 16 Assists)

3. Hurricanes fans: Watch out for Zac Dalpe in the near future. He's having a great season in the American Hockey League after foregoing his final two years at Ohio State, and could help make a very strong mix down the middle of Staal, Skinner and himself.

4. As much as hockey fans alike enjoy poking fun at Sather's tenure on Broadway, you can't help but deny the great job he's done with the scouting and drafting side of hockey operations. Chris Kreider, Christian Thomas, Evgeny Grachev and Ryan Bourque are all something special.

5. I wonder if Jeremy Morin (Blackhawks) could have been better served playing a top role with Kitchener this season, rather than bouncing between the minors and the NHL.

6. Jared Knight is so undervalued, following the Phil Kessel trade. I absolutely believe he could be a difference maker for Boston when his time comes.

7. Who's kidding who? Martin Brodeur isn't going to be around forever. Where will Lou turn when he needs a #1? Maybe it's Scott Wedgewood, who is having a strong season with Plymouth in his first go round as their starter.

8. Can't say enough good things about Edmonton picking up Curtis Hamilton in the second round. Does he remind anyone else of James Neal?

9. Have I told you about Mark Schiefele? Seriously, whoever picks this guy up, immediately gets better down the middle in a few years time. Look for him to be a late first round STEAL.

10. For any fans of prospects and the scouting that goes into them, I highly recommend you check out The Art of Scouting, a book by Shane Malloy on the ins and outs of the hockey scouting world. Very solid read, that just came out. I'm halfway through and can't help but rave about it.
