Want to see the new Predators 3rd jersey? You don't have to wait till Thursday any longer. The Section 303 guys heard the rumors from Steve Sullivan's Twitter account (@sully26) that Taylor Swift may debut the jersey during her encore at the concert last night. They snagged some last minute tickets just for the chance to see them. Well, they got their wish and now you can too.

Head here for the post: Section303.com Sneaks a Peek at the New 3rd

Now, it's cool and all that Miss Swift, a Preds fan who has attended games and done a commercial for the team, got to wear the new sweater. I do have a small complaint though. Shouldn't the season ticket holders and die hard fans get a chance to see it before a crowd of mostly country music and non-hockey fans? To me, if I was a paying customer and fan of the Nashville Predators, I'm a little peeved by this move. Thursday was supposed to be the big reveal, but now, the team allowed Miss Swift to don the 3rd and give away the surprise. Maybe some of you don't mind that, and if that's the case, tell me why I'm wrong in the comments section. I understand that it's a good way to promote your team to a sold out crowd of 18,000, but at the same time, I'm thinking you probably just ticked off a fan or 2,000.

Tell me what you think fans. I like the 3rd from what I can see and think it's a solid jersey.

*******************************************************Well everyone, hockey season is here. That's right, training camp is in full swing and the training camp reports will be out in force over the next week. The one thing that is a bit disappointing (for me at least) is that I won't get to attend. I'll have to rely on the reports of others just like you. That's what happens when you switch to full time. The good news is that the first pre-season game is Thursday night, along with the grand unveiling of the new 3rd jersey.

So it's a pretty exciting time in Preds world. Not to mention there are those rumors of Sykora and Kessel out there. Last week those names were mentioned to me as possible situations the Preds are looking at. I think both could fit in well with this team. That said, unless this trade for Kessel occurs over the weekend, I fully expect the Preds to take in a few pre-season games before they decide whether or not to add an offensive or defensive piece.

Now, I did get to attend rookie training camp the other day, but went at it with a varied approach. I have a few quotes including some fun stuff from a few of the participants of rookie camp.

QUOTES

Brandon Felder - "Traditionally you've said that everyone goes through Milwaukee, but do you feel like this year the talent level on a couple of these guys may be so that they might be able to bypass that?"

Barry Trotz - "Yeah. I'm a big believer in that. When I say, "Everybody goes through Milwaukee", there is exceptions to the rule, there's no question about that. What I am saying is that for most people the general rule is you go through Milwaukee and that's probably the best process. It gives you a great foundation. Some guys can miss it. Some guys can start and have to have a taste of it, you never know. There's some that are good enough that they can bypass it. Those are more the exception to the rule then they are the rule. We're open minded in all those situations. If we weren't open minded we wouldn't have been able to find guys like Danny Ellis and a Joel Ward. There's going to be another one this year, someone that comes to camp, and probably maybe not that high in our eyes coming in to camp, he might be a depth guy like the Joel Ward situation and Danny Ellis situation, who is going to really step up and they are going to be on the team, they'll start with us, and can they stay with us? The last couple of years we've had one story. Maybe this year it's a story of a younger guy and not necessarily a veteran guy. We always keep our eyes open, and I think that's why we've been successful at getting those sort of free picks, like Joel for us was a free player, and he's a good player for us."

Felder - "Talking to Barry a minute ago, he said this year is one of those cases where some guys might be able to bypass Milwaukee. Has Barry said that to you guys, that there is a chance there?"

Jon Blum - "Yeah. When I read the papers and stuff like that they said the young guys have a chance to make a spot so that probably includes guys like myself, (Cody) Franson, a couple of the other guys that played in the AHL. Just by playing in the playoffs there I feel like I can push for a spot. Hopefully I will get a chance to crack the lineup when October comes."

Felder - "What songs are you listening to right now in your iPod?"

Blum - "I like Rise Against. That's my favorite band so anything from them I like."

Felder - "What's one of the best movies you've seen lately?"

Blum - "Over the summer the Hangover was good and Inglorious Basterds was a good one I just saw."

*

Felder - "Has Barry expressed to some of you guys that this year there is a chance someone can bypass Milwaukee?"

Colin Wilson - "I think that's really motivating knowing that there is a spot there. That's the reason I signed and left college, to make the big team. To get the opportunity to play here is quite motivating."

Felder - "What music is in the iPod right now?"

Wilson - "Right now I mostly listen to Johnny Cash and I like Kings of Leon right now too."

Felder - "Favorite movie you've seen lately?"

Wilson - "Inglorious Basterds."

*

Felder - "What music are your listening to right now?"

Jeremy Smith - "I'm an alternative guy. I just went to an O.A.R. concert back home before I came here. So I really like alternative acoustic."

Felder - "What movie have you seen lately that you really enjoyed?"

Smith - "I saw that District 9. That was pretty good. It was kinda crazy but it pretty good actually, had a good story."

*

Felder - "Favorite music or song right now?"

Chet Pickard - "Miley Cyrus' new one, Party in the USA. That's probably number 1."

Felder - "Ok then, good thing your in Nashville right now then."

Pickard - "Yeah. (laughs)"

Felder - "What movies have you seen lately that you really liked?"

Pickard - "I liked the Hangover, I think it was a good summer movie. I liked that Wolverine movie. I guess Hannah Montana."

Felder - "Hannah Montana movie?"

Pickard - "No… I like that 17 Again with Zac Efron. I know it's kind of weird but."

Felder - "Let's go back a second to the Hannah Montana movie. I'm developing a theme here. Do you have a crush on Miley Cyrus, is that what I'm gathering here?"

Pickard - "Little bit yes."

So there's some quotes of note from the other day. Maybe one of you can help Chet meet Miley at some point once he gets to Nashville.

Unless something big breaks, I will talk to you Thursday night. That's right, the season is here and it's time for the return of my normal post-game blog. I hope you look forward to it as much as I do.

Till then, take care.
