Looking to take a two games to zero lead in their Western Conference semifinal series, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars host Ken Hitchcock's St. Louis Blues on Sunday afternoon at the American Airlines Center. Game time is 2 p.m. CDT. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.
In Game One on Friday night, the Stars skated to a 2-1 win. Radek Faksa's goal with 4:44 left in regulation snapped a 1-1 tie and sent Dallas to victory. Kari Lehtonen (31 saves on 32 shots) earned the win over Brian Elliott (40 saves on 42 shots) on a night where the Stars carried the majority of the play. Antoine Roussel and Kevin Shattenkirk traded off the game's first two goals after a scoreless opening period; Shattenkirk's tying the game with 10:28 remaining. The Stars went 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
Tyler Seguin (Achilles injury) and Patrick Eaves (lower body) are out of the Dallas lineup. Valeri Nichushkin is expected to get a reprieve for the healthy scratch list to play in Eaves' place. The Stars also recalled Curtis McKenzie and Brett Ritchie from the AHL's Texas Stars.
St. Louis has a full lineup at Hitchcock's disposal.
The series shifts to St. Louis on Tuesday for Game 3 (8:30 p.m. CDT) and Thursday for Game 4 (7:00 p.m. CDT).
