Abbreviated Preview: Stars at Jets

Playing the back end of a home-and-home set, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (3-2-1) are in Manitoba on Thursday night to take on Paul Maurice's Winnipeg Jets (2-4-0). Game time at the MTS Centre is 7:00 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

On Tuesday, the injury-riddled Stars skated to a 3-2 home win over the Jets. Antti Niemi had a strong game in goal, stopping 28 of 30 shots, while the returning Patrick Eaves, Brett Ritchie and Tyler Seguin scored for Dallas. Devin Shore notched a pair of assists.

Joel Armia scored for Winnipeg, who also received a meaningless goal from Mark Scheifele in the final nine seconds of the game to cut the final deficit to one goal. Michael Hutchinson took the loss in goal for Winnipeg.

Stars forward Jason Spezza remains out of the Dallas lineup. Team captain Jamie Benn, who has taken quite a few maintenance days on non-game days, did not practice on Wednesday but is expected to play.
