Mini-Preview: Stars vs. Jets

Looking to break out of an early season stretch of markedly inconsistent play, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (2-2-1) play host to Paul Maurice's Winnipeg Jets (2-3-0) on Tuesday night. Game time at the American Airlines Center is 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

The Stars enter this came coming off a 3-0 home loss at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.after the game was scoreless through the first 36 plus minutes. Sergei Bobrovsky blanked Dallas on 32 shots while Josh Anderson, Scott Hartnell and Matt Calvert (empty net) scored for the Blue Jackets. Kari Lehtonen stopped 23 of 25 shots in a losing cause for Dallas.

The Stars are dealing with a slew of injuries at present. No sooner did Ales Hemsky return to the lineup from a groin injury than he reinjured it in Saturday's game and has been placed back on the injured reserve list, along with the likes of Cody Eakin and Mattias Janmark. Patrick Sharp remains out with a suspected concussion, and Jiri Hudler (illness) is still unable to play but is on the mend.

Jason Spezza (left practice early on Monday after sustaining a physical issue on Saturday) is questionable for Tuesday. Patrick Eaves is close to returning and is questionable for Tuesday.
The Stars have recalled center Justin Dowling from the AHL's Texas Stars.

Ruff expressed displeasure with the team's breakouts and puck management last game. The coach sad there could be changes in the blueline personnel from last game. The Jets enter this game coming off a 3-0 home shutout loss to Edmonton in the Heritage Classic game.
