Mini-Preview: Stars vs. Kings
Returning home after a victory in Nashville, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (2-1-0) play host to Daryl Sutter's Los Angeles Kings (0-3-0) on Thursday night. Game time at the American Airlines Center is 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
This is the first of three meetings between the teams this season. Los Angeles won two of the three games in last year's season series.
Dallas bounced back strong from an ugly 6-5 loss in Colorado on Saturday to earn a 2-1 win over the Predators. Adam Cracknell scored for Dallas, while Jason Spezza netted the game-winner. Kari Lehtonen turned back 27 of 28 shots to earn the win in goal.
Jiri Hudler (illness) is out, while Ales Hemsky (groin) Cody Eakin (knee) an Mattias Janmark (knee) remained on the injured reserve list.
Struggling early this season, the Kings dropped a 6-3 road decision to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. As with their game against Philadelphia last Friday, the Kings enjoyed a strong first period but fell apart in the middle stanza. Minnesota scored three goals within a span of 4:30 to seize control of the match.
On the injury front, star goaltender Jonathan Quick (lower body) and veteran forward Marian Gaborik (foot) are on injured reserve for Los Angeles.
