QUICK HITS: DECEMBER 27, 2017

1) The Flyers made a roster move on Tuesday. Goaltender Michal Neuvirth was activated off the injured reserve list. Alex Lyon was returned to the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

2) The Flyers reconvene on Wednesday for a morning flight to Florida. The team will hold a 1:30 p.m. practice at the BB&T Center in Sunrise. The Flyers play the Florida Panthers on Thursday (7:30 p.m. ET) and then head to Tampa for a game against the Lightning on Friday.

3) There are two preliminary round games at the World Junior Championships in Buffalo on Wednesday. At 3:00 p.m. ET, Belarus (Maxsim Sushko) takes on Switzerland. At 7:00 p.m. ET, Canada (Carter Hart) plays Slovakia.

4) On Tuesday, Hart made 29 saves on 31 shots -- and also benefited from a desperation sweep of the puck off the goal line by Cal Foote -- in Canada's 4-2 win against Finland. In the first period, Hart stopped 11 of 12 shots. He denied 10 of 11 in the middle stanza. In the third period, he was credited with eight saves. Finland’s goals were scored by two players Hart has played against in the WHL: Alekssi Heponiemi (Swift Current Broncos) and Henri Jokiharju (Portland Winterhawks).

5) Russia came out flat and suffered a 5-4 loss to the Czech Republic despite a late-game rally by the Russians to cut the deficit down to one goal. Flyers 2016 first round pick German Rubtsov (16:29 TOI across 28 shifts) had an uneven game but made a nice play to set up the Russians' third goal. He finished with two assists and one shot on goal.

6) Sweden dispatched Belarus, 6-1. Defenseman Linus Högberg skated just 7:46 over 16 shifts. Sushko skated 19:39 across 29 shifts, finishing without a shot on goal but even in plus-minus. The winger took a late-game cross-checking penalty.

7) On Friday, January 19, the Flyers Alumni Team will play the Hershey Bears Alumni at Hersheypark Stadium. The game is the precursor to the AHL's 2018 Outdoor Classic on Jan. 20 between the Bears and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Tickets start at $59 and include both games as well as a one-day admission pass to Hershey Park (valid through July 31), a commemorative seat cushion and admission to the Fan Fest.
