1) Earlier today Team Sweden earned a 5-1 win over Team Canada at the WJC Evaluation Camp in Plymouth, Michigan. The game had intrigue to Flyers fans because the goaltending matchup pitted a pair of Flyers' prospects against one another: Felix Sandström (36 saves on 37 shots) for Sweden and Carter Hart (16 saves on 20 shots). The final Junior Crowns goal was an empty-netter) for Canada. Flyers defense prospect David Bernhard did not record a point or a shot for Sweden. Flyers forward prospect Travis Konecny did not play.
2) In Friday's other game, Team Finland edged Team USA, 2-1. Flyers forward prospect Tanner Laczynski, playing fourth line RW, did not record a point but had two shots on goal.
3) Today in Flyers History: August 5
1977: In exchange for Mark Suzor, the Flyers acquire Barry Dean from the Colorado Rockies. Dean had been the second overall pick of the 1975 NHL Draft; the year the Flyers selected Mel Bridgmanwith the first overall pick.
1991: The Flyers trade Shaun Sabol to the New York Rangers for future considerations.
1993: The Flyers sell the contract of Shawn Cronin to San Jose Sharks in a cash transaction.
1999: The Flyers sign defenseman Dan McGillis to a two-year contract extension.
2014: The Flyers sign unrestricted free agent defenseman Michael Del Zotto to a one-year contract. The player would become an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent after the 2014-15 season.

2016 Flyers Alumni Fantasy Camp
The 2nd annual Flyers Alumni Fantasy Camp is sold out.
The camp will be held Aug. 19 -22, 2016 in Atlantic City. The Alumni have assembled an excellent group of instructor/coaches this year, including Hockey Hall of Famers Bernie Parent and Mark Howe, along with the likes of Danny Briere and Flyers assistant coach Ian Laperriere.
The official Flyers Alumni website will soon have a camp preview and exclusive photos afterwards of the various on-ice activities, end-of-camp tourney and off-ice festivities.
