QUICK HITS: JULY 19, 2016

1) Two recent Flyers draft picks have been invited to World Junior Championships evaluation camps for their respective national teams.

Tanner Laczynski, the Flyers' 2016 sixth-round pick (169th overall), has previously represented Team USA at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and at 2015 World Junior A Under-19 Championships. Laczynski will be a freshman at Ohio State next season.

Flyers 2016 seventh-round pick David Bernhardt will be in camp with Sweden's national under-20 squad. The big Djurgården defenseman has not yet played for the national team or at the senior level impressed last season for DIF J20 team.

Felix Sandström is likely to be Sweden's starting goaltender at the next WJC. Travis Konecny (Canada) and Ivan Provorov (Russia) are shoo-ins for their national teams if they return for another year of CHL hockey in 2016-17.

2) The return of the annual Flyers Alumni Golf Invitational yesterday brought together dozens of retired players spanning every generation of franchise history. The Flyers' official website has the story:

3) Today in Flyers History: July 19

1978: Minor league forward Brian Burke retires. In later years, he will become a prominent and influential NHL team and league executive.

1985: Kevin McCarthy returns to the Flyers organization for a second stint as the defensemen signs as a free agent.

1994: The Flyers sign tough guy winger Phil Crowe as a free agent.

2006: The Flyers sign unrestricted free agent winger Geoff Sanderson.

2010: In a move prompted by salary cap issues, the Flyers trade longtime star left winger Simon Gagne to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for defenseman Matt Walker and a 2011 fourth-round pick (Marcel Noebels).

Alumni Birthday: Czech forward Tomas Divisek was born on July 19, 1979 in Most, Czechoslovakia. A seventh-round pick by the Flyers in the 1998 NHL Draft, Divisek developed into a promising NHL prospect and played well for the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms. However, he was set back by two shoulder injuries and his stock fell before he returned to play in the Czech Extraliga.

Divisek appeared in five NHL games for the Flyers over parts of the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons. On Nov. 8, 2001, Divisek scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 2-1 road win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It would be the only goal and point of Divisek's brief NHL career.
