QUICK HITS: APRIL 25

1) Team Russia has officially announced its pre-World Championships roster for the Carlson Hockey Games preparation tournament taking place in Sweden and the Czech Republic from April 27 to April 30. Two Flyers players -- defenseman Ivan Provorov and right winger Roman Lyubimov -- are on the Russian roster. Likewise, Jakub Voracek and Radko Gudas are now officially confirmed for the Czech roster and Valtteri Filppula is playing for Finland.

2) Past Flyers names who are participating in the Carlson Hockey Games: Lasse Kukkonen (Finland), Mika Pyörälä (Finland) Vaclav Prospal (assistant coach, Czech Republic), former Flyers draft pick and ex-Phantoms forward Mario Kempe (Sweden) and former Flyers training camp invitee Tomas Hyka (Czech Republic).

3) Congratulations to former Flyers defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon, who has been hired by his old QMJHL junior team, the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, in a dual role an assistant general manager and assistant coach. Bourdon, now 27, was forced to retire as an active player in 2014 after a series of concussions prematurely curtailed a career that seemed to be taking off during the 2011-12 season. Subsequently, Bourdon attended and coached at Liberty University.
