QUICK HITS: MAY 22, 2018

1) Memorial Cup: The OHL champion Hamilton Bulldogs (1-1-0) defeated the WHL champion Swift Current Broncos (0-1-1) in Regina on Monday night. Flyers prospect Matthew Strome did not record a point, and had one shot on goal. The Bulldogs' Marian Studenic scored the game winning goal with 2:01 remaining in the third period. A power play goal by Mackenzie Entwistle gave Hamilton an early 1-0 lead before the Broncos' Colby Sissons scored on the power play midway through the second period to knot the score. Swift Current goalie Stuart Skinner was peppered with 56 shots but kept his team in the game until the end. Final shots were 56-22.

On Tuesday, Strome's Hamilton team take on German Rubtsov and the QMJHL champion Acadie-Bathurst Titan (2-0-0). To date in the tournament, Rubtsov has two assists in two games, while Strome had an assist in his team's first game.

Round robin play ends on Wednesday when fellow WHL teams Swift Current and the Regina Pats (1-1-0) face off in Regina.

2) On Tuesday evening, Chris Therien, Keith Primeau, Todd Fedoruk and Dave "the Hammer" Schultz will appear the Chophouse in Gibbsboro, NJ for a happy hour fundraiser for Shoot for a Cure. The Flyers alums will be there from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

3) Today in Flyers History: May 22, 2010 -- Riding waiver-wire pickup goaltender Michael Leighton's third shutout performance in the Eastern Conference Final, the Flyers built a three games to one lead over the Montreal Canadiens with a 3-0 road win in Game Four. After a scoreless first period, Claude Giroux and Ville Leino notched second period goals to build a 2-0 lead. Leighton, who saw just 17 shots for the game and few of significant danger, nailed down the shutout in the final stanza. Giroux added an empty netter for his second goal of the game and eighth of the 2010 playoffs.
