QUICK HITS: MAY 29, 2016

1) Memorial Cup Final: The final game of the 2016 Memorial Cup in Red Deer Alberta will take place on Sunday afternoon, pitting the Ontario Hockey League champion champion London Knights (3-0-0 in round robin play) against the Quebec Junior Hockey League champion Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, featuring Flyers defense prospect Philippe Myers. Game time is 4:30 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised on NHL Network.

2)Six years ago on May 29, 2010, the Flyers started the 2010 Stanley Cup Final with a wild 6-5 road loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. The Flyers held leads of 1-0, 3-2 and 4-3 but heaps of offensive chances and leaky goaltending on both sides made no lead safe for either side. The game entered the third period tied at 5-5. Brian Boucher, who stopped 11 of 12 shots in relief of starter of Michael Leighton, took the loss.

3) On the Flyers official website, Steve Coates interviews Sean Couturier about his 2015-16 and his outlook on next season.

4) Flyers A(cton) to Z(ubrus): One of the things I am most looking forward to in covering the Flyers 50th Anniversary season is rolling out profiles and photos of each and every one of the 500-plus players who has suited up for the Flyers during their history. The profiles will be rolled out on the Flyers' official website before the start of next season, along with a 365-day "Today in Flyers History" to be published daily.
