1) On the Flyers' official site, I have two new articles: one that looks at how Flyers scouts work all season to help assemble the team's pre-draft ranking list. The other looks at the 10 deepest draft classes in franchise drafting history.

2) Courier-Post beat writer Dave Isaac took a look at the ongoing expansion project at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Click here.

3) Today marks the 24th anniversary of the Eric Lindros trade with the Quebec Nordiques, which sent to Quebec the rights to Forsberg, along with Steve Duchesne, Ron Hextall, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, the rights to Chris Simon, Philadelphia's 1993 first-round pick (used by Quebec for goaltender Jocelyn Thibault), Philadalphia's 1994 first-round pick (used on the selection of defenseman Nolan Baumgartner) and $15 million in cash.

4) On this date in 2008, the Flyers acquired a 2008 first-round pick (originally belonging to Colorado) and the Columbus Blue Jackets' third-round pick from Columbus in exchange for forward R.J. Umberger. The Flyers used the first round pick to take defenseman Luca Sbisa and the third-round pick on defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon. On that same day, the Flyers traded their own 2008 first-round pick to the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenseman Steve Eminger and the Capitals 2008 fourth-round pick. The Caps selected defenseman John Carlson with the pick. The Flyers took goaltender Jacob Deserres with the fourth-rounder. After a brief and unproductive stint with the Flyers, Eminger was traded along with Steve Downie to Tampa Bay in exchange for defenseman Matt Carle.

5) Longtime Flyers' public address announcer Lou Nolan posted the following on Facebook this weekend. Perhaps a HockeyBuzz reader could help out Lou here.

"I need some help. On April 9th, the last regular season Flyers Game, as I was preparing for the end-of-season awards on the ice, I was approached in the Zamboni tunnel by WFC Security and asked if I could come up to a box and meet a young man who had brought me a gift. Just minutes before the presentation, I asked if they could bring him to me. Told he was in a wheel chair they went to get the young man. They arrived back about a minute before air and I went to meet him. He had discovered that I collect duck decoys and brought me one. A very nice one. I gave him my card, asking him to get in touch. I went on the air and then to my broadcast spot, and he was gone. So far I have heard nothing.

I so want to meet him again and thank him. So if there is anyone who may know of this story or can put me in touch, please do so."
