QUICK HITS: SEPTEMBER 30, 2016

1) After an off-day at camp on Thursday following four exhibition games in three nights, the Philadelphia Flyers resume training camp on Friday morning at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The team will host the Boston Bruins in a preseason game at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday.

2) The World Cup of Hockey ended on Thursday with Canada staging a late two-goal rally to defeat Team Europe and win the tournament. It will still be a few days until the Flyers will have Claude Giroux, Mark Streit and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare available. Some of the players whose teams were eliminated earlier in the tournament -- Jakub Voracek, Michal Neuvirth, Shayne Gostisbehere and Sean Couturier -- could be in the Flyers' lineup against Boston on Saturday.

3) Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced on Thursday that defense prospect Mark Alt, who left Wednesday's game against the Devils shortly after a fight,, is out indefinitely with an upper body injury. Alt appeared to be favoring his hand as he skated to the penalty box.

4) The Flyers' roster currently stands at 39 players remaining in training camp as of Friday morning. On Thursday, the Flyers announced 10 roster cuts; all from among Lehigh Valley Phantoms players who made the trip to Allentown for Wednesday's game and simply remained there for the start Phantoms' training camp. The cuts: goalies Anthony Stolarz and Alex Lyon, forwards Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Radel Fazleev, Tyrell Goulbourne, Corban Knight, Danick Marel and Mark Zengerle, and defensemen Robert Hägg and Reece Willcox.

Samuel Morin, who played in Wednesday's game, remains with the Flyers. By Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) rule, the Flyers are not permitted to assign the injured Alt to the AHL club until he is medically cleared.

5) Flyers left wing prospect Oskar Lindblom is off to a torrid start in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) regular season. Through his first three regular season games for Brynäs IF Gävle, he has five points (three goals, two assists). On Thursday, he posted a goal and an assist in BIF's 5-3 win against Örebro. Teammate and fellow Flyers prospect Felix Sandström allowed three goals on 17 shots but picked up his second win in as many starts.

6) Flyers 2016 first-round draft pick German Rubtsov (foot injury) was activated off injured reserve by KHL team Vityaz and was assigned to their junior (MHL) team. He played in Thursday's game.
