Primary Blues Equity Investor Is Stepping Aside

Sources confirm Towerbrook Capital, the investment management firm who assisted in Dave Cheketts efforts in purchasing the St.Louis Blues, is divesting from Sports capital Partners.

SCP has hired Citibank Sports Advisory to find a replacement for Towerbrook capital.
Towerbrook will remain involved with SCP until a replacement is found.

This should not come as a huge surprise as equity investors rarely commit long-term.

Sources with SCP say this will not affect how Checketts runs the Blues moving forward from a financial standpoint.

I'm told Dave Checketts, Mike McCarthy, Ken Munoz along with minority Owner Tom Stillman remain committed to the Blues organization long-term. Sources close to the Blues say a recent report claiming the organization is for sale is untrue.

More to come,
